Originally from Ontario, Brian & Annette’s love for food and travel took them all over the world. A move to Germany led to the purchase of a food truck where they attended weekly markets and special annual events. Another move, this time to Florida, is where they built a bulk food store from the ground up. Finally, after many years of travelling and working, they settled in the Cowichan Valley, British Columbia.

Brian has owned and operated his own HVAC Company (commercial and industrial air conditioning and refrigeration) for over 25 years. After purchasing an industrial building on the south end of Cowichan, he used his experience and knowledge to build the commercial kitchen which allowed him to create a well designed Kitchen where small producers would have a large cooking area with plenty of prep tables and natural light.

Annette has experience on both sides of the retail food business, both as a buyer and a seller. And her degree in marketing is put to good use promoting The Kitchen as a place where local small producers can flourish. Contact Annette to Book a Tour of the Kitchen.

Together as entrepreneurs, Brian & Annette have always been on the lookout for new opportunities. After the purchase of the building in October 2018, Brian was introduced to a few small producers and he recognized the need for a shared commercial space. That is how the seed was planted and The Kitchen was created.
