How much does renting space cost?

What's included in the rental fee?

  • Access 24 hours/day, 7 days/week, 365 days/year

  • Use of all stove tops, ovens, work tables, 3 bay sinks and dishwasher

  • 1 full designated shelving unit in our walk-in cooler

  • 1 full designated shelving unit in our walk-in freezer

  • 1 full desiganted shelving unit in our dry storage area

  • 1 lockable metal cabinet on wheels for your personal equipment

  • Convenient online booking and scheduling

  • Toilet paper, paper towel, hand soap, garbage bags, mop & bucket

    Extra storage in sea container at $10/month + GST per linear foot (Duncan only)

Hyrdro rental rates do not include hydro for your own equipment. Hydro cost
is calculated per individual meter for specific equipment needed.

Cleaning Service $30/month + GST. Cleaning service includes:
cleaning of all common areas, tabletops, stoves, bathrooms, sinks and floors

Garbage/Recycling Pick Up $30/month + GST

What equipment do I need to bring?

We provide the storage space and heavy equipment, you bring everything else – pots, pans, knives, bowls, blenders, utensils, and all the specific tools you require for your production.

Please note that any of your own equipment that you choose to leave at
The Kitchen must fit in to your lockable cabinet.

Do I need my own health inspection?

Yes, the Vancouver Island Health Authourity will review your
food safety plan, sanitation plan and inspection report and then come to The Kitchen to inspect you in place.

 What else do I need to get started?

Great question! You will need to provide us with a copy of your liability insurance policy, valid food safe certificate(s), business licence, and a signed lease.
